Andechs is situated between Lake Starnberg and Lake Ammer and it’s well-known for its monastery. From the “sacred mountain” you have a really nice view over the Five-Lake Region, sometimes even all the way to the Alps.
The Benedictine monastery is not only visited because of their extraordinary beer, the picturesque farmhouses around it, but also because of the various events taking place throughout the year, such as the Carl-Orff Festival and the Andechser Orgelsommer.

If you walk the way up by foot, you can reward yourself by drinking a cold beer and enjoying different Bavarian delicacies, such as genuine Starnberg organic roast pork or a pan of mushrooms collected between Lake Ammer and Lake Wörth.
