The Empress Elisabeth Museum in Pöcking is located at the historic train station in Possenhofen. Elisabeth spent her youth with her siblings and parents in the Possenhofen castle during the summertime.

The Empress Elisabeth Museum is situated in the waiting area of the former royal train station Possenhofen from the year 1865, today know as “S-Bahnhof Possenhofen”.

The permanent exhibition shows keepsakes of Empress Sisi as well as paintings of the imperial couple. Pictures and sculptures illustrate the life of Elisabeth and her family in different periods of life.

Sissi used to meet King Ludwig II on rose island, which can be reached after a short boat ride. Therefore the museum also has exhibits that relate to König Ludwig II and Lake Starnberg.
